There are many ways to create assignments for this activity. For children's services, assignments are a great feature to allow you to see all children whether or not they are attending your student-specific activities. Assignments provide another way for you to follow-up with the parents of all children.
Consult the following list to determine which assignment method makes the most sense for your ministry.
Let Check-in do all the work—this is the easiest method as it requires little manual work. Because you selected Most Recent Attendance when you configured the activity, Check-in will create an assignment when children check-in. (See Create a Children's Service Activity ). Assignments are created in an overnight process after you have completed a check-in session.
Use People Query and Mass Action—this method ensures all children receive an assignment whether or not they have attended this activity. Use the following filters in your Query:
Search by: Individual Information, Criteria: Date of Birth, Comparison: (is before and is after - you will need to use both of these to isolate an age range), and the date of birth. When your results are displayed, select the check box in the header bar and select
Manually create assignments for children—this option works well when you do not have many children to work with. Click Ministry >Participants> Assignments to display the assignment form. Simply find a child and then select the correct activity and room/location. Save the assignment when you are through.
